What is it?
Nerve hydrodissection is a technique used to free up pinched nerves with ultrasound guidance to decrease pain and inflammation due to chronic nerve compression.
Why is it used?
Nerves normally glide through the muscles and soft tissue with movements. If injuries or repetitive stress occur, the nerves can get “stuck” and the tissue does not allow the normal motion. Pain and/or altered sensations can develop. Nerve hydrodissection can be used to free the nerve from the surrounding tissues.

What are the results?
Nerve hydrodissection can be very successful in relieving numbness, tingling and pain. In fact, hydrodissection can provide substantial pain relief even when surgery fails, or for non-operative care. The benefit from this procedure will typically be noticed immediately with maximal relief after 2-3 treatments.
Who will be performing?
Dr. Terrance Leighton, DO, CAQSM brings a comprehensive background in both traditional and extreme sports medicine. His clinical focusincludes diagnostic and procedural musculoskeletal ultrasound, treatment of nerve entrapments with Hydrodissection, and regenerative therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for both chronic joint degeneration and acute soft tissue injuries.

Commonly treated areas:
- Carpal Tunnel and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
- Forearm pain due to median, ulnar and radial nerve entrapment
- Knee pain due to patellar tendonitis, saphenous nerve injury
- Post surgical pain due to scar tissue
- Ankle pain due to surgery or chronic ankle sprains and instability
- Achilles Tendonitis
